We are delighted that our Founder, Marina Cantacuzino will be taking part in Sheffield’s 2015 Festival of Words, Off the Shelf. Marina will be discussing her book, The Forgiveness Project: Stories for a Vengeful Age with two people who feature in the book – Marian Partington and Jayne Stewart.
Marian’s sister Lucy was a victim of Fred and Rose West. Jayne and her brother Patrick were sexually abused by their father and Patrick killed himself. Marian and Jayne’s journeys toward forgiveness began with murderous rage and a dawning recognition that they were therefore not separate from those who had hurt them. They went beyond the desire for revenge towards a more creative relationship with their own suffering and a desire to make a difference in the world.
Off the Shelf is one of the largest literary festivals in the UK, attracting some of the best known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year.
