An invitation to those who use personal narrative and story in their work to share best practice and learn from each other.
An alive and spontaneous space that nurtures a growing body of wisdom, and encourages creative cross-disciplinary collaborations.
The Forum meets six times a year. Meetings include: mini-workshops, presentations on new areas of work, small group discussions on best practice, networking time, sharing info and resources.
September’s meeting will include:
1. Playback Theatre taster: Playback Theatre creates an opportunity for real stories to be heard and then reflected back through theatre in a communal context. There is testimony, witness and a potential for transformation through the artistic response. Stories – lived experiences, memories, thoughts, feelings – will emerge into the public space from you the audience, and we will follow the thread of our collective conversation through the Playback Theatre process.
2. Discussion: What principles and philosophies inspire or underlie our work in this field? With Scherto Gill (Guerrard Hermes Foundation for Peace) & Justine Huxley (St Ethelburga’s).
3. Mini Workshop: Entering the Sacred through Story. Rose Rylands is a teacher, songwriter and storyteller. She is passionate about using story as a vehicle to connect children and adults with spirituality and also with nature, at this critical time of transition.
The forum is a collaboration with The Forgiveness Project and the London Inter Faith Centre with input and involvement from the International School of Storytelling and Guerrard Hermes Foundation for Peace
Time: 5:30 PM to 8:15 PM
Location: The London Inter Faith Centre, 125 Salusbury Road, Queens Park, NW6 6RG
