EVENT: Jihad: A story of the others – Screening and Q&A – 14 March 2016 – SOLD OUT

9We are delighted to present a screening of Jihad: A story of the others by Emmy Award winning director, Deeyah Khan.

The 50 minute film will be followed by a very special Q&A with Deeyah and three of those featured in the film, Munir ZamirManwar Ali (Abu Muntasir), Chief Executive of JIMAS and Yasmin Mulbocus.

All three are now tireless advocates of non-violent resistance and will speak of their journey moving away from fundamentalism and discuss how to reach out to black-and-white thinkers intent on harming those who don’t share the same views.

The evening will be chaired by Ross Frenett, co-founder of Moonshot CVE.

Time: 6.30 – 8.30pm (doors open 6pm)

“Great journalism often challenges the official version of events. That’s what Deeyah Khan’s film Jihad does to the story which governments and tabloids like to tell about the radicalisation of Muslims. She takes those cliches and caricatures, shreds them, and then she let’s you see what is really happening.”
